If you've ever driven the southern-most section on I-95 in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties in Florida, you know how crazy it gets. Everyone from drug dealers in $500K Ferraris going in excess of 100 mph to blue-haired old ladies in mid-'90s Saturns going 25 travel on this interstate. You'll see trucks with their beds full of migrant orange pickers and motorcycle gang members splitting lanes and rolling 20 deep. It is, to say the least, an intense drive.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier, enter this crazy Florida man and his crazier baby mama.
The Palm Beach-Miami corridor of Interstate 95, on its best day, is one of the most intense stretches of road in America. Add in a man on the hood on a car going 70 MPH and you have one of the most insane videos we've seen all year. What goes through a person's mind when they are driving that fast with someone hanging on with their fingers? One Florida woman found out...
The Florida man's name is Junior Francis. In the video, that's him on the hood of the car. Driving is his ex-girlfriend and mother to his daughter, Florida woman, Patresha Isidore. Francis says that the two of them have a "complicated relationship."
Uh, by the looks of it, complicated doesn't even begin to describe it.
It all began with a dispute over who would use the couple's jointly owned Mercedes-Benz C300. Isidore later told the police she needed the vehicle to pick up the couple's 5-year-old daughter. Apparently, to figure out who would get the car for the evening, the couple raced to the driver seat, with Isidore coming out victorious, but Francis wasn't going down without a fight. In an ill-planned maneuver, Francis jumped on the hood of the car to prevent his ex from taking off. He severely underestimated her.
"She turned the engine on, dropped it in reverse and turned," Francis said. "That's when things took a turn."
In the viral video, recorded by Daniel Midah from his car, Francis is on the hood clutching on for dear life while Isidore is going 70 MPH down Interstate 95 in Boward County, which is north of Miami. According to Francis, she drove down into Dade country, south of Broward before turning around and going all the way back, all while Francis held on for dear life. He also managed to make a 911 call to police while he held on. "She's swerving the car and I'm on top of the car. I really need help," Francis could be heard telling the dispatcher.
Somehow, Francis held on and wasn't hurt. After the terrifying ride, Isidore was arrested but Francis refused to press charges against Isidore, even though he says she is "out to kill (him)." Seems like the best idea, right? Maybe next time, she'll succeed?
Also - we couldn't help but notice she was in the carpool lane. Does having a passenger on the hood count as having two "in the car"? Let us know in the comments.
